HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

Purchased printer in Panama. They do not sell HP 954XL ink. Purchased the recommended 952XL cartridges from HP.com. The printer says that the 952XL cartridges are incompatible. I am reading the forums and I need a region code reset.

I see that you are looking for help with a regional reset on your Printer.

To perform a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

 

Which country did you move from and to?

Do you have the ink cartridges for both regions?

Do you have a printer USB cable or is it connected wirelessly?

Do you have the printer full feature software or the HP smart app and drivers installed on your PC?

If you meet the above conditions then let me know the following details:

1) The operating system of your PC, is it Windows or Mac?

2) Confirm the printer model.

 

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Which country did you move from and to? The printer is from Panama and the ink is US ink (952XL).

Do you have the ink cartridges for both regions? Yes.  However ink from Panama is long dried out.  954XL.

Do you have a printer USB cable or is it connected wirelessly? Wireless connection.

Do you have the printer full feature software or the HP smart app and drivers installed on your PC? Yes

 

1) The operating system of your PC. Windows, all latest updates.

2) Confirm the printer model. HP Officeject Pro 8710

Hi @bubbles081283,

 

Please install the previous country ink cartridges and perform the steps given below.

 

If your computer is connected to the printer with a USB or wireless connection, you can open the Set New Regions window with HP Smart by following these steps.

 

1) Open the HP Smart app.

 

2) On the Home screen, click gear icon.

 

 

3) Click About, press and hold Ctrl + Shift, and then right-click on the HP Smart logo.

The region reset screen opens.

 

4) Take a screenshot of the screen and send it to me in a private message.

 

To access your private messages, click the Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it or simply click on this link

This is from the PANAMANIAN printer with HP-provided Brand New US CARTRIDGES.  This represents the US CARTRIDGES that must work in the printer but are INCOMPATIBLE.

This is the PANAMANIAN cartridges that are dead, dried out and no longer work, however, they are compatible with the PANAMANIAN printer. These must be thrown away and replaced with the US CARTRIDGES that are not compatible.

Thank you for sharing the above information.

As I see you will have to use the HP 954XL ink as the printer was purchased in Panama to support in your region.

Even performing a regional reset to US will still not help you in using the 952XL ink cartridges as the printer is not used in USA.

 

Please find the supported ink cartridge for your region for reference from the below image.

The printer is ALSO used in the US; "it likes to travel". Right now, however, it is in Panama.

 

Please provide the regional code to reset the cartridges to the US.
