Hello, can anyone offer any advise with why my printer is showing Indicated ink cartridges are not HP instant cartridges? I've had this printer for atleast 4yrs and I've always bought the same HP Ink from Wal-Mart, where I also bought the printer.

Hi @MRod79,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 2752 All-in-One Printer is displaying a message that the ink cartridges are not HP Instant Ink cartridges, there are several possible causes and solutions:

1. Verify the Ink Cartridges

  • Double-check the cartridges to ensure they are genuine HP cartridges. Look for the HP logo and packaging details to confirm authenticity. Counterfeit cartridges can sometimes enter the supply chain.

2. Ensure Compatibility

  • Confirm that the ink cartridges are compatible with the HP DeskJet 2752 printer. The compatible cartridges for this model are:
    • HP 67 or 67XL for the U.S.
    • Other regions may use different cartridges (check the user manual or printer specifications for your region).

3. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Dust or debris on the cartridge contacts can cause recognition issues.
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    2. Remove the cartridges carefully.
    3. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts (the golden-colored area).
    4. Allow the cartridges to dry and reinstall them.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Perform a hard reset of your printer:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Unplug the power cord and wait for 2-3 minutes.
    3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

5. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • An outdated printer firmware can sometimes misidentify cartridges.
    • Go to HP Support and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
    • Install the firmware update following the instructions.

6. Check for HP Instant Ink Enrollment

  • If you previously enrolled in HP Instant Ink but stopped using it, the printer may be locked to only accept Instant Ink cartridges.

7. Try Another Cartridge

  • If the cartridge is faulty, even if it is new. Test with another genuine HP cartridge to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
