Hi @Pac67,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

 Verify Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Check that the 910XL cartridges are indeed listed as compatible with your specific HP printer model. Your printer's user manual or the HP Support website can confirm this compatibility.

Inspect and Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the cartridge access door and carefully remove the cartridges.
  • Inspect the cartridges to ensure they are not damaged and that all protective strips or covers have been removed.
  • Reinsert the cartridges, ensuring they are seated correctly and the latch is closed securely.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts in the printer.
  • Ensure the contacts are dry before reinserting the cartridges.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Outdated printer firmware might cause recognition issues. Check the HP Support website for any firmware updates available for your printer model.

Reset the Printer:

  • After reconnecting the printer to power, perform a reset. Turn the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the printer, wait 60 seconds, and then reconnect the power and turn the printer on again.

Try Another Set of Cartridges:

  • If possible, try another set of 910XL cartridges to determine if the issue is with the cartridges themselves.

Check for Ink Cartridge Authentication:

  • Ensure that the cartridges are authentic HP cartridges. Third-party or remanufactured cartridges may not always be recognized by the printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
