I would like HP to either unlock my printer or refund me the ink cartridges I bought and cannot use because HP will not let a non-name brand cartridge be used... This is entirely stupid. I should be able to use my printer with the correct ink, regardless of brand. I bought 2 extra large cartridges.

I know it can print with the cartridges because it did 4 pages before it stopped.

Note that this is a peer to peer forum and I am just the messenger of this bad news:  Only these HP inkjet printers can use non HP ink.

You must use genuine Hewlett Packard cartridges either original or refilled. They must have an HP chip in the cartridge.   The last time I checked, Epson, Canon and Brother all do the same.
The below type is unlikely to work.

If you obtained ink labeled HP from 3rd party, check to see if it is genuine.

To check if an HP ink cartridge is genuine, look for a security label on the cartridge, scan the QR code on the label with your phone, and then go to HP's website hp.com/go/ok to verify the serial number on the label; if the label appears tampered or the serial number doesn't validate, the cartridge is likely not genuine.
