Where do I find the ink code or key for Instant Ink? It's not in the printer box or the cartridges box.

Hi @Elocsta

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

To obtain the claim code for HP Instant Ink, follow these detailed steps directly from your printer. This code is used to enroll your printer in the Instant Ink program and link it to your HP account.

Step-by-Step: Get Your HP Instant Ink Claim Code

1. Ensure Printer Is Connected to the Internet

  • Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi.
  • You can check this by looking for a solid blue wireless light on the printer.

2. Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  • On your Windows 11 PC, open a browser.
  • Type your printer’s IP address into the address bar (e.g., 192.168.1.250).
    • You can find the IP address by printing a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel.

3. Locate the Claim Code in the EWS

  • Once the EWS loads, go to the Web Services tab.
  • If Web Services are not enabled, click Enable Web Services and follow the prompts.
  • After enabling, the printer will print a Web Services Information Sheet.
  • The claim code will appear on this sheet, typically as:
    • abc123 or printercode@hpeprint.com

If the code is older than 24 hours, it may expire—repeat the steps to generate a fresh one.

4. Use the Claim Code to Enroll

Let me know if you’d like help finding your printer’s IP address or navigating the EWS. You’ve done the right thing by checking this—and I’ll help you get enrolled smoothly.
