@Dajen1811, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding ink error!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I see that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 is still displaying an ink error even after replacing the cartridges. Let’s get this sorted out!

Here are a few steps to try:

Check for Protective Tape – Sometimes, the new cartridges come with a plastic strip or tape covering the ink nozzles. Make sure it’s fully removed.

Reinsert the Cartridges – Take them out and firmly reinstall them into their designated slots. Ensure they click into place properly.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts – Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the gold-colored contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer. Let them dry before reinserting.

Restart Your Printer – Power off your printer, unplug it for about 60 seconds, then turn it back on. This can help refresh the system.

Check for Firmware Updates – If your printer is connected to the internet, you can check for updates under Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.

To better understand the issue, could you share:

Are you seeing a specific error message or code on the display?

Are the cartridges original HP cartridges or third-party ones?

Did you replace all cartridges or just one?

Let me know how it goes, and we’ll take it from there! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
