Hello
I have a HP Photosmart c6380 All in One printer. and everything is fine on the computer end but the printer goes through the motions of printing & copying but nothing happens. No ink is applied to paper. Brand new cartridges installed so I know it’s not because of no ink
have tried almost everything I can think of & what online has said to do including resetting factory settings & all…SUGGESTIONS?? Thank you on advance!!

@Dcpservices, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue with your HP Photosmart C6380 printer. Since you've already tried resetting the printer and replacing the ink cartridges, there are still a few other things you can check to resolve the issue. Here’s a set of troubleshooting steps that might help:
Check for Ink Blockage or Dry Ink Nozzles
Ink can sometimes clog or dry up, especially if the printer hasn’t been used in a while. Use the printer's self-cleaning feature to clean the printheads.
On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead (or a similar option).
Follow the on-screen instructions.
You may need to run this process a few times for the best results.
Check Paper Path
Make sure there are no paper jams in the printer. Even small bits of paper can prevent the printer from working properly.
Remove any stuck paper and check the paper tray for debris.
Check the Printer’s Ink Levels
Sometimes, the ink levels can show as "full," even if the cartridges are faulty.
Use the printer software installed on your computer to check the ink levels.
You can also check via the printer’s control panel (if available).
Restart Print Spooler (Windows):
- Search services in the search box. Open the service menu.
- In the list, find Print Spooler.
- Right-click Print Spooler and click Restart.
- If it’s stopped, click Start instead.
- Close the window. Check if the issue persists
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
