I am trying to print envelopes but every single time I do, the top left keeps smearing and not printing correctly, but everything else prints fine. I have cleaned the cartridges through the printer 3 times, and also manually cleaned them with distilled water and a coffee filter and nothing is changing.Untitled design (42).png

Hi@JSievers,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing Ink smearing issues with the HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-In-One Printer.

I have a few recommendations

  • Horizontal smearing indicates that there are fibers clogged at the bottom of the ink tank. If you notice this kind of problem, then take out the cartridges and start cleaning them. If your ink cartridges are more than a year old, they may have already dried out, or the print heads have become clogged with ink residue.
  • Don't use regular white printer paper when you print pictures or other images. Instead, use a thick, high-quality photo paper to prevent ink smears and smudging. Some brands of photo paper, such as those labeled "Instant Dry," are designed to dry faster than others.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
