HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I used to have an icon on my desktop where I could quickly get the ink levels. I was advised to delete and go through settings so I did. I have an obituary picture that is not printing well. Help!

Hi @Yahnet,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To check the ink levels on an HP Deskjet 2540 printer, you can follow these steps.

  • Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your computer or the network.
  • Open the HP printer software on your computer. This software is usually installed along with the printer drivers when you set up the printer.
  • In the printer software, locate the ink level monitoring option. This may vary depending on the software version, but it is typically found in the "Tools" or "Maintenance" section.
  • Click on the ink level monitoring option, and the software should display the current ink levels for each cartridge installed in your printer.

Remember that the availability of ink level monitoring can also depend on whether you're using genuine HP ink cartridges or third-party cartridges. Non-HP cartridges may not provide accurate ink level readings or may not be supported by printer software for ink level monitoring.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
