Hi @sanjaycul,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If ink is not flowing through the hose to the printhead despite having full cartridges, it could be due to several potential issues. Here’s a systematic approach to diagnosing and resolving the problem:

1. Check for Air Bubbles

Inspect Cartridges:

  • Ensure the ink cartridges are properly seated in their slots. Remove and reinstall them to make sure they are snugly fitted.

Tap Cartridges Gently:

  • Gently tap the cartridges to dislodge any air bubbles that may be trapped inside the ink system.

2. Clean the Printhead

Access the Printhead:

  • Open the printer’s access door to reveal the printhead. Refer to the printer’s manual if needed.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth and distilled water to clean the printhead. Avoid using paper towels or any abrasive materials that might damage the printhead.

Perform Printhead Cleaning:

  • Most printers have a built-in cleaning utility in their software. Run this utility to clean the printhead and remove any blockages.

3. Check for Blockages in the Ink Tubing

Inspect Tubing:

  • Look for any visible kinks or blockages in the ink tubing. If possible, gently straighten the tubing or clear any visible obstructions.

Clean Ink Tubing:

  • If you can access the tubing, use a syringe with distilled water to flush the tubing gently. Be cautious not to force water through, as this could damage the system.

4. Perform a Printer Diagnostic

Run Diagnostics:

  • Many printers have diagnostic tools built into their software. Run the diagnostic tool to check for any issues with the ink system.

Follow Recommendations:

  • Follow any recommendations or steps provided by the diagnostic tool to address the issue.

5. Replace or Reseat the Printhead

Remove and Inspect Printhead:

  • Carefully remove the printhead and inspect it for any visible signs of damage or blockage.

Reinstall or Replace Printhead:

  • Reinstall the printhead and make sure it is securely in place. If the printhead is damaged, consider replacing it with a new one.

Check for Firmware Updates

Update Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates for your printer model. Sometimes firmware updates can address ink system issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
