I just replaced the black cartridge and when I try to print, it cancels out and I get a error message low ink blocked. What do I do?

@Driverman1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your replaced ink!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I know how frustrating it can be when you’ve just replaced a cartridge and still get a low ink error. Let’s get this sorted out!

Here are a few things you can try:

Double-check the cartridge installation – Sometimes, the cartridge might not be seated properly. Try removing it and reinstalling it firmly.

Clean the cartridge contacts – A small dust particle or dried ink on the contacts can cause issues. Power off the printer, remove the cartridge, and gently clean the copper-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth and a little distilled water. Let it dry before reinserting.

Restart your printer – Turn off the printer, unplug it for about a minute, then plug it back in and power it on. This can help reset any error messages.

Check for firmware updates – Outdated firmware can sometimes cause cartridge recognition issues. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or the HP website.

Run a cartridge alignment – If your printer has an option to align cartridges (usually found in the printer settings menu), running this can help it recognize the new cartridge properly.

If none of these work, let me know your printer model, and we can troubleshoot further. Hope this helps! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
