I would like to cancel my ink subscription. I think I pay $1.56 a month for it. I don’t use the printer very often and have not had fro change the cartridges since I purchased it.
Please cancel my subscription.

Hi @Sstdelight1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are looking for information on how to cancel the instant ink service.
Please follow the below steps to cancel the service.
If you cancel:
- You can continue printing with Instant Ink supplies until the end of your current billing cycle.
- At the end of the billing cycle, you must remove Instant Ink cartridges and purchase Original HP Ink or Toner directly from the retailer of your choice to continue printing. Instant Ink cartridges only work in enrolled printers.
- Your final monthly charge comes at the end of the billing cycle.
- The Paper Add-on service ends with your Instant Ink service.
Note: HP Instant Ink is based on the pages you print, not cartridges or shipments you receive.
To cancel:
1) Sign into your account Instant Ink account
2) Verify the serial number by selecting Overview, and then Printer Details in the Status area.
3) Click HP Instant Ink, then Update Plan in the left menu.
4) Scroll to Plan Details.
5) Click Cancel my HP Instant Ink Subscription and then follow the prompts.
You receive an email confirmation immediately, and another at the end of the billing cycle.

I don’t underhand why I have to take out the cartridges? I paid for them. What exactly am I paying $1.56/mth for? I believe I have an extra set of cartridges that you sent me that I have not used. I have not changed cartridges since I purchased the printer, I don’t print a lot. Please explain this to me.

Hi @Sstdelight1,
HP Instant Ink is based on pages, not cartridges that are sent. Your monthly fee allows you to use our subscription cartridges to print your plan pages and includes ink or toner, delivery and recycling.
If you cancel the Service, even if the Subscription Cartridges provided with your subscription are not empty, they will stop working in your printer and you will have to replace all of them with standard HP genuine cartridges.
Take care and have a good day.
