Try these steps:
Use Genuine HP Cartridges
HP recommends using genuine HP ink or toner supplies. Non-HP or refilled cartridges may not produce the expected quality or reliability. You can check the authenticity of your cartridges on the HP anti-counterfeit webpage.
Check and Replace Low or Empty Cartridges
Step 1: Check the Estimated Ink Levels
- On the printer control panel, touch the Ink Level Indicator icon.
- The control panel will display estimated ink levels.
Step 2: Replace Low or Empty Cartridges
- Turn on the printer.
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
- Push in on the front of the cartridge to release it, and then pull it toward you to remove it.
- Insert the new cartridge into its slot and push it forward until it snaps into place.
- Repeat for any other low or empty cartridges.
- Close the cartridge access door.
Use the Automated Tool to Clean the Printhead
- Load plain white paper into the tray.
- On the printer control panel, swipe to Setup, and touch the Setup icon.
- Navigate to Tools, and touch Clean Printhead.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. You may need to repeat the cleaning process several times to restore print quality.
