Printer showed a sign that Ink should be changed.  I changed all the colors and Black Ink and they were accepted by the printer except the Cian (Blue).  The printer shows me the following message "There is a problem with the supply system.  Try replacing the affected cartridge with a different, non-empty, cartridge.  If message reappears again, record message and contact HP.)

Actually, I changed this Cian Ink 3 times with a brand new one that I got from a closed box that I purchased at STAPLES and I still get that message, and the printer does not want to accept any print requests.   Would you let me know where the problem is?

Hi @Lucie26,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It seems that you're experiencing a persistent issue with your HP printer where the cyan ink cartridge is not being recognized, despite replacing it multiple times. Based on the message displayed, there could be a problem with the supply system. Here's a detailed guide to help resolve this issue:

Check the Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the cyan cartridge is compatible with your specific printer model. Sometimes, an incorrect or incompatible cartridge might not be recognized by the printer.

Inspect the Cartridge: Carefully examine the new cyan cartridge for any visible damage, and ensure that it is properly unwrapped and all protective tapes have been removed.

Clean the Electrical Contacts: It's possible that dust or ink could be affecting the connection. Gently clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and the printer using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water. Ensure all parts are dry before reinserting.

Reinsert the Cartridge: Firmly reinsert the cyan cartridge into the printer, ensuring it clicks into place properly to make a good electrical contact.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Wait for a couple of minutes, then reconnect it to the power and turn it on.
  • This can sometimes reset the hardware and resolve the issue.

Test with Another Cartridge: If possible, try using another new cyan cartridge if the first attempts do not resolve the problem. Since you have replaced it three times, ensure these cartridges are sourced from a reliable HP partner or store to rule out possible batch issues.

Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model from the Official HP® Support. Sometimes, firmware updates resolve recognition issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
