I bought my printer about 2 yrs ago which in this time I received ink once. So I canceled it. Now my printer won't work because it doesn't have your in in it. I have more than paid for the ink I have left but yet you want me to send it back. If I had known when I bought it it only ran on ink I have to pay for every month I wouldn't have bought it

Hi @Basmig
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating this situation must be for you, especially after you've already paid for the ink you have left, and now your printer isn't working properly. It sounds like your printer may have been part of an HP Instant Ink program, and there might be a confusion regarding how it works now that you’ve canceled it.
Here’s some information to help clear things up and potentially resolve the issue:
1. HP Instant Ink Program Details:
HP Instant Ink is a subscription service where HP monitors your ink levels and sends you new cartridges when needed. It’s designed to ensure that you always have ink available without having to worry about running out. However, the printer will typically require an active Instant Ink subscription for it to function, and once canceled, it may stop printing if it’s still tied to the service.
2. What to Do if You’ve Canceled Instant Ink and Your Printer Stops Working:
Check the Printer Status:
- If your printer is stuck on a message about missing ink or subscription status, it’s likely that the Instant Ink service has been disabled, and the printer is unable to use the ink cartridges unless the service is reactivated.
Resolve the Issue:
Reactivate HP Instant Ink: If you’d like to continue using Instant Ink, you can reactivate the service. Visit HP Instant Ink website to log in and manage your account. You can re-enroll in a plan that suits your printing needs, and HP should send you new cartridges if necessary.
Use Standard Ink Cartridges: If you prefer not to use HP Instant Ink, you may need to switch to standard ink cartridges for your printer. You’ll have to remove the Instant Ink-specific cartridges and replace them with regular HP cartridges. In some cases, the printer may block printing until the appropriate cartridges are installed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
