Welcome to the HP Support Community.
If you insert your old black ink, do you still get the error message?
Let's try to reset the Printer here:
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.
Let me know if this helps.

Once I put the old cartridge in I do not get the error message. It is the cartridge that is not any good. I have used 65XL in the past and never had issues and since then I have purchased another 65XL and I do not get that error message. Can I get my money back ? The store will not accept it for exchange or refund since covid happened and no original packaging.
