Hello!
I have an office Jet Pro 9025. I am signed up for the instant ink service, but misplaced the cartridges sent to me. I installed a set of cartridges I purchased, and my touchscreen displays the following message:
"Non-Instant Ink Cartridge - The cartridges you inserted are not monitored by your HP Instant Ink service. If monthly billing has begun for your Instant Ink service, it will continue."
Since the message will not go away I can't use the touchscreen for anything at all thus rendering the printer relatively useless from that perspective. I need to get rid of the message so I can use the touchscreen to make copies, scan, etc.
PLEASE HELP!
Michael

@MichaelAustin, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand the printer screen is stuck at this error.
Reinsert the ink cartridges to check if that helps.
Check for other options available on the printer screen.
Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC
Go to the HP Smart app and click OK. Check if you are still able to print from the computer.
If the printer is not stuck on this error anymore, please send me a private message with your Instant Ink account details or you may also respond to the private message I've sent out and I'll help you out, accordingly. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
If the error persists, kindly contact the Instant Ink department in your region for assistance. The contact information can be found on the home page of Instant Ink. Click here or go to HP Instant Ink support
They will also send you a replacement set of ink cartridges.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
Click on the YES button to reply that the response was helpful and/or to say “Thank You”.
Have a great day!

Thanks to zero help from HP, I figured out how to fix this. You need to use your web browser to log onto the web interface of your printer (good luck if you don't know what that means!), then create a password to change the settings. It's under the Settings banner (top of the page) > Security section (left side menu) > Password Settings. My guess is you need to create this "local" password since unsubscribing from Instant Ink means you can't log onto the printer with your "cloud" HP account any longer. HP wants to force you to create a local password for the admin website of the printer, and their method of forcing you to do that and informing you of the mandatory requirement is by giving you the vague and entirely useless message on your printer of "Non-Instant Ink Cartridge - The cartridges you inserted are not monitored by your HP Instant Ink service. If monthly billing has begun for your Instant Ink service, it will continue."
