Hp envy 7640. Loaded new color cartridge 62 and will not print cyan or magenta on print quality diagnostic. Cleaned heads 3 times and ran diagnostic report. Never had any problems before.

It sounds like you've already done a good job troubleshooting, but the issue with the cyan and magenta printing could be tied to several different factors. Here are a few more suggestions that might help you resolve the issue:

 

Check Ink Cartridge Installation:

Reinstall the cartridges: Even though it seems like the cartridge is loaded properly, sometimes a slight misalignment can cause issues. Remove the cyan and magenta cartridges and reinsert them, making sure they snap securely into place.

 

Check for Protective Tape:

If the new cartridges are genuine HP and came with protective tape, make sure it was fully removed. Sometimes even a tiny piece of the tape can block ink flow.

 

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
