HP Smart Tank 580 All-in-One Printer

I have a Smart Tank 580. During initial setup, I poured the cyan ink in the magenta tank (yes, I am that stupid!)

Is there a way to extract the ink and install it in the correct tank? Or just extract the ink?

Hi @popaki

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Unfortunately, it is generally not possible to extract ink from one ink tank and transfer it to another in most consumer inkjet printers. The inks are specifically formulated for each color, and mixing them can result in poor print quality or damage to the printer.

If you've accidentally poured cyan ink into the magenta tank during the initial setup, the best course of action is to contact phone support for further assistance. They may be able to provide recommendations on how to address the issue, but in most cases, it may involve replacing the affected ink cartridge.
