I  was able to remove the old color cartridge from my HP Envy Inspire 7900e printer.  However, I am unable to slide the new cartridge completely into the printer.  What am I doing incorrectly?

Hi @PaulSB19,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like you might be encountering some resistance when trying to insert the new cartridge. Here are some steps to ensure it's inserted correctly:

Ensure the printer is turned on: Make sure your printer is powered on before attempting to insert the cartridge.

Open the cartridge access door: Open the access door or the cartridge access area of your printer.

Remove any packaging: If you haven't already, remove the new cartridge from its packaging.

Insert the cartridge correctly:

  • Hold the cartridge by its sides, with the contacts facing towards the printer.
  • Slide the cartridge into the correct slot. Ensure that it's inserted at a slight upward angle, then gently push it in until it clicks into place.

Close the cartridge access door: Close the door securely. The printer may take a moment to recognize the new cartridge.

This could be a carriage. Click here for further assistance.

If you're still unable to insert the cartridge completely, double-check that you're using the correct cartridge for your printer model.

If the issue persists, there may be a mechanical problem with the printer, and it might be best to contact HP support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
