Product: HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

I have a HP Envy Photo 7858 printer. I am interested in the HP Instant Ink program.  I print a lot of 5x7 and 8x10 format photo paper prints which uses a lot of color ink. I can not figure out how the instant ink program knows how to keep track of the ink usage if it does not count photo paper usage or it HP bills for photo print ink usage some how? Can anyone help me understand this who might also be a current instant ink customer and printing photo graphs? Thanks
