Howdy. I just canceled my instant ink subscription because I barely use my printer. When I  need ink, I can buy it from Staples. Now I'm getting a message on my printer screen saying that I can't use the printer because I'm not enrolled. That is the scummiest thing I've ever seen. You're saying that I can't use the printer that I PAID FOR unless I CONTINUE PAYING YOU?  You're not an insurance company. I shouldn't have to pay you JUST IN CASE I run out of ink. I'll get it when I need it.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something about this subscription program, and I can enroll my printer without paying a monthly fee, then I am NEVER buying an HP printer again. I'm tempted to burn this perfectly good printer and post a video of it just to prove a point.

Garbage.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

The printer is usable outside of the Instant Ink subscription contract.

Instant Ink is an optional service contract.

Consider donating the printer rather than destroying it - stay safe.

Yeah, but...

You cannot continue to use the Instant Ink / subscription cartridges after the contract is terminated.

All Instant Ink cartridges, those made part of the subscription and any subscription cartridges sent to you only work with an active subscription.

All cartridges attached to the service remain the property of HP and should be returned.

At the least, all such cartridges must be removed from the printer and replaced with a full set of new HP ink cartridges.

What?

Contact Instant Ink Support and ask for help with whatever you missed in the Cancellation procedure.
