Instant Ink and Multiple Printers

I have two printers that use the same cartridges - an 8035 and a 6978.    I just got the replacement Cyan and Yellow cartridges, two sets.  However, both sets work ONLY In the 6978 - in the 8035, they return the "incompatible" message.   So, I need a new set for the 8035 (and hopefully won't have to wait 4 weeks ).

And when I get them, is there any way to tell which set goes to which printer w/o opening them and trying?
