I subscribed to HP Instant Ink this morning. Immediatelly, I was unable to print in color.
i've changed no settings and when i look in print properties nothing like black/white or greyscale is selected.
Any ideas on this?
Thank you

Hi @mwhittington,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with color printing after subscribing to HP Instant Ink, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.
Check Instant Ink Account:
- Make sure that your Instant Ink account is active and that your printer is properly registered with the service. Log in to your Instant Ink account on the HP website to verify this.
Check Cartridge Status:
- Ensure that your color ink cartridges have sufficient ink levels. You can check the ink levels through the printer software on your computer or directly on the printer's control panel.
Restart the Printer:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity or communication issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Check the HP website for any firmware updates for your specific printer model, and follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.
Check for Software Issues:
- Reinstall the printer drivers and software on your computer. Sometimes, issues can arise due to corrupted or outdated drivers.
Print a Test Page:
- Print a test page directly from the printer's control panel. This can help you determine if the issue is related to the printer itself or the computer.
Reset Printer Settings:
- Reset the printer settings to default. This can be done through the printer's control panel or the HP printer software on your computer.
Remember, always check the HP Instant Ink website and your account details for any messages or alerts that might provide insight into the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
