I tried installing the color cartridge (67/305) I received through InstantInk but it is too large and the door will not shut. It also does not able to slide all the way to the ends of the printer bar. The replacement black one is the right size and works fine but the color one will not work. There is no way this cartridge will fit in my printer. What do I do? I think my only recourse is to cancel Instant Ink because it is not worth the hassle. The virtual assistant was completely unhelpful.

I understand the color ink cartridge cannot be installed in its slot and is bigger than the usual replacement Instant Ink cartridges.

 

Check if the ink cartridges are properly seated, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

Make sure the plastic tape if any, is removed from the new ink cartridge before placing it in the printer.

 

As the issue is related to Instant ink cartridges, I need more information to help you out.

I have done everything that HP has asked me to do. Many, many times. It doesn't fit. The plastic tape was removed. It is pushed in as far as it will go. It actually can be installed but the cartridge is too long and the door will not close and it can't slide all the way to the ends of the bar. I understand that it is supposed to fit. I understand that the instant ink cartridges are bigger. I understand that it is the correct cartridge number but it still will not work. (I've had many conversations with HP and have been told every time that it will fit. But it doesn't and no one believes me.)
