Instant Ink delay after purchase

A word of warning: the HP setup cartridges are probably only good for <100 pages of full-colour printing. That would be OK if HP was able to expedite your first delivery of Instant Ink and supply you with full-sized cartridges within a few days, but not so!

My experience with a new OfficeJet Pro 9730e was disappointing. The first batch of ink took 10 days from Instant Ink enrolment to delivery, not in time for a largish print job of 60+ A3 colour pages, This meant an emergency dash to office supplies for new cartridges in order to meet the print deadline = extra expense of 3+ x monthly ink subscription before the Instant Ink arrived the very next day. Best to allow a ramp-up period of say, 14 days before you rely on the Instant Ink program.

A few helpful points moving forward:

• Setup cartridges are intended for initial printer calibration and limited use — they may not be sufficient for high-volume printing.
   
• HP Instant Ink shipments are typically automated based on usage, but the first delivery may take up to 10–14 days. We recommend enrolling and allowing a ramp-up period before starting large jobs.
   
• If you expect to print a high volume or need ink urgently, we can also ship an additional set of ink cartridges for you. Let me know if we can check and help with the shipment
