I am surprised that HP could imply a unit with an expired warranty status and more than 150 pages printed as a NEW unit and "One possibility is many printer are printed at factory to test and may showup"

Here's our last few communication:

Hi F,

Your supplier, has given you a new unit with invoice

They have also confirmed on support.

Issue here is, this product is not a product sold in Singapore.

They have as well confirmed that this Printer does not support Instant ink, neither the supplier supports instant ink.

Your supplier also confirmed on return policy.

I see everything is explained well and clear.

Dear S,

Just to reiterate, based on your response, you are confirming the seller’s claim that a brand new HP printer can come with:

  • Different volumes of ink for each colour cartridge.
  • A printed usage report showing more than 150 pages already printed.
  • An expired warranty status when checked on the HP website.

I will be using these facts, as confirmed by HP's highest-ranking Customer Relations Manager handling my case, to verify my claim with CASE.

Hi F

This supplier is not a registered HP supplier.

We don’t have information on how and from they procure the stock and sell.

I can only confirm that this unit

HP OfficeJet Pro 9730 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

Serial number: CNXXX

Product number: 537P5C

This particular product : 537P5C is not sold on our SG online sales website.

This product is neither sold or maintained in SG. This is a overseas parallel imported stock from your supplier.

Please raise this concern with your supplier regards the ink that was already used and printer showing printed 150 pages.

One possibility is many printer are printed at factory to test and may showup

and my case was promptly closed after that.

Hi @exasperatedme,

Thank you for sharing the complete details.

To clarify, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9730 (Product No. 537P5C) in question is an overseas/parallel-imported product and is not sold or supported by HP Singapore. The seller is also not a registered HP supplier in Singapore.

As a result, HP Singapore cannot verify the unit's source, sales history, condition when supplied, ink usage, or the page count shown on the printer. The earlier reference to factory testing was only a general possibility and does not confirm that this particular unit was previously used or tested by HP.

Since the printer was purchased from the seller as a new unit, any concern regarding its condition, prior usage, warranty status, or the seller's representation of the product needs to be addressed directly with the point of purchase. The seller can also advise you on the applicable return, replacement, or refund options.

HP has provided all the information available regarding this product's status in Singapore. At this stage, the point of purchase is the appropriate party to resolve the concerns regarding this specific unit.

Thank you for your understanding.

I'm an HP Employee.
