Hi @bskiny1 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue of your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e being stuck on 'validating' could be related to several factors. The arrival of new cartridges might help, but there are other steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem before your cartridges arrive:
- Restart the Printer: Power off the printer completely, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check the Cartridges: If you have any cartridges already installed, make sure they are properly seated and compatible with the printer. Remove and reinsert them to ensure they are correctly positioned.
- Update Firmware: Ensure that the printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP support website and follow their instructions to update the firmware. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Reset the Printer: Perform a factory reset. This is usually done through the printer's settings menu, but refer to your user manual for specific instructions.
- Check Network Connection: If your printer is connected to a network, ensure the connection is stable. Sometimes, connectivity issues can cause validation problems.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
