Hi @Dreams23,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your color prints are coming out blurry or with faded ink, it typically indicates issues with the printer’s ink system, settings, or hardware. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Check Ink Levels:

  • Check Cartridge Levels: Make sure that all color cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow) have enough ink. Low ink levels can cause faded or incomplete prints.
  • Replace Cartridges: If any cartridges are low or empty, replace them with new ones.

2. Perform Print Head Alignment:

  • Access Printer Settings: Open the printer’s software on your computer or use the printer’s control panel.
  • Run Alignment: Look for a maintenance or setup option to perform a print head alignment. Follow the instructions to align the print heads correctly.

3. Clean Print Heads:

  • Use Printer Utility: Many printers have a built-in utility for cleaning print heads. This option is usually found in the printer’s software or on the printer’s control panel under maintenance settings.
  • Perform Cleaning: Run the cleaning cycle to remove any clogged ink nozzles. You may need to repeat this process a few times if the print quality does not improve.

4. Check Print Settings:

  • Adjust Print Quality: Go to Printer Properties or Print Setup on your computer and set the print quality to “High” or “Best” rather than “Draft” or “Normal.”
  • Paper Type: Ensure you’re using the correct paper type setting for the media you’re printing on (e.g., photo paper, glossy paper).

5. Inspect and Replace Ink Cartridges:

  • Check Cartridges: Ensure that the cartridges are installed correctly and securely.
  • Replace Cartridges: If you suspect that the cartridges may be defective or dry, consider replacing them with new ones.

6. Check for Printer Firmware Updates:

  • Update Firmware: Visit the printer HP website to see if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Installing the latest firmware can resolve many issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
