Hi @Dave13131313,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the supply system's error.

A "supply system" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-In-One Printer after replacing the Cyan cartridge indicates there might be an issue with the new cartridge or the printer's ability to recognize it. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Turn off the Printer: Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Inspect the Cartridge: Remove the Cyan cartridge and inspect it for any protective tape or packaging that might still be attached.
  • Reinstall the Cartridge: Reinsert the cartridge, making sure it clicks into place securely.

2. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Remove the Cartridge: Take out the Cyan cartridge.
  • Clean the Contacts: Gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts inside the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Reinstall the Cartridge: After cleaning, let the contacts dry completely and then reinstall the cartridge.

3. Check for Firmware Updates

  • HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app to check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.
    • Open the HP Smart app.
    • Select your printer.
    • Look for firmware updates and install them if available.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Dave13131313,

Please find the next set of steps below.

5. Use Genuine HP Cartridges

  • Ensure you are using genuine HP cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges can sometimes cause errors.

6. Check for Additional Blockages or Issues

  • Inspect the Printer: Look inside the printer for any obstructions or leftover packaging materials.
  • Paper Jams: Check for and clear any paper jams.

7. Printer Maintenance

  • Align the Printhead: Sometimes, aligning the printhead can help resolve issues related to cartridge recognition.
    • Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to run the printhead alignment.

Additional Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Try Another Cartridge: If you have a spare Cyan cartridge, try installing it to see if the problem persists.
  • Printer Reset: A full factory reset can sometimes resolve persistent issues, but note that this will reset all settings on the printer. You can find the reset option in the printer’s menu under "Settings" > "Printer Maintenance" > "Restore".

These steps should help you resolve the "supply system" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 printer. If the error persists after trying these steps, there might be a more serious issue with the cartridge or the printer itself. In this case, contacting HP Phone Support for further assistance would be advisable.
