I keep getting repeated Windows 10 notifications "Genuine HP cartridge installed."
Even though I clear (click the X) notification, it keeps coming back every time I turn my PC on.
I have tried to reset the the printer by unplugging the power cord, waiting a minute, and plugging it back in.
I have tried by running HP Smart diagnostics--no problems found.
I went to the Windows Notifications Setting page, but it makes no sense to turn off ALL Notifications from HP Smart--All I want to do is acknowledge the installation of a new cartridge by clearing it, and not have it continue to pop up again.
I did a screen capture to provide an illustration, but can find no way to upload it.

Hi @pragmaticron,
I'd like to help!
I understand you are receiving a "Genuine HP Cartridge installed" notification and you are unable to acknowledge it.
If the cartridge is not seated properly you might receive this message, try and remove and reinstall the ink cartridge in the printer.
Also, try the below suggestions-
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

- There is a bit of a misunderstanding. It's the fact that when I acknowledge the notification, the same notification comes back whenever I restart my PC.
- Also, I tried the reset you described many times prior to reaching out to the community for help.
- Also, I ran the "Diagnose & Fix" routine found in HP Smart. However, it reported no problems found.
- While, I didn't think to try a firmware update, a few moments ago the routine shows "The printer is up to date." Version is: MANHHIPP1N005.2137A.00. Build Date: 2021-09-06.
- New Information:
- While viewing Printer Status (HP Smart/Printer Settings/Status/Printer Status), it showed the Magenta Cartridge as being installed. It also has an OK button to acknowledge the installation. I clicked on OK and the Printer Status was updated (removed report of cartridge installation).
- *****Recommendation for Improvement. Make acknowledgement of cartridge installation reliable when acknowledged via Windows 10 Notifications routine.
