What is the average toner usage for the MFP 5800?
We have a new one and have printed a total of 12194 pages, today we installed our 3rd cartridge, that includes the original set.
So that would be average 4065 pages to have to replace all four cartridges.
Is that a normal Usage for this printer?

HI @RickBeareSA,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The average toner yield for the HP LaserJet MFP 5800 series typically ranges from about 3,500 to 5,000 pages per cartridge, depending on the specific model and usage conditions. If you’ve printed 12,194 pages and have replaced all four cartridges, averaging about 4,065 pages per cartridge is within a reasonable range, though on the lower end of expected yields.
Factors Affecting Toner Usage
- Print Settings: Higher quality settings or color printing can consume more toner.
- Document Type: Printing graphics or images uses more toner than simple text documents.
- Frequency of Printing: Frequent printing can lead to quicker toner depletion.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
