For a few weeks now, print quality has become really bad, increasingly faded, washed out, greenish, to the point now where prints and copies are unusable.
Toner cartridges are original and at 100%, printer has had mild but constant home use and been properly cared for. Firmware is updated.
I've run all possible tests, been in touch with support, even the paid version, utterly useless, and I have no solution. Only clue I got was "the drum must be tired", and it turns out on this model the drum is not removable. I thought of getting a new HP printer, but it turns out no current other models use the same toner cartridge, and I have about 800€ of spares that I can just chuck out the window now, way to go HP.
If anybody had the same issue and was able to find a solution, I appreciate your feedback.
**UPDATE** After doing some more research, I found out that the drum is built into the toner cartridge, therefore every cartridge has a new one... HP support were really bright with their answer..

Thanks for the tip. The printer is in a smoke free room with no particular dusty environment, but of course the printer is 6 years old, so "normal" dust may have accumulated inside. This makes more sense than what I got from the support guy, I'll try to get a quote from some local repair shop then, to see if it makes financial sense to get it in shape again. Appreciate it.
