Hi @Norman13661,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When a LaserJet printer like the CP1525nw starts printing totally black pages after changing cartridges, it's likely due to an issue with the toner cartridges or with the printer's internal components. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

Reinstall the Toner Cartridges: Ensure that all the toner cartridges are properly installed. Remove and then carefully reinsert each cartridge, making sure they are securely seated in their correct positions.

Check for Protective Tape: Double-check that all protective tapes or covers on the new cartridges have been completely removed. Sometimes, remnants of these protective materials can obstruct the toner from being properly distributed on the page.

Reset the Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve minor issues by refreshing the printer's internal state.

Clean the Printer: Use the printer's built-in cleaning cycle, if available. This can help if the issue is being caused by excess toner or debris inside the printer. Consult your printer's manual for instructions on how to run this cycle.

Check the Transfer Belt: The CP1525nw uses a transfer belt to transfer the toner from the cartridges onto the paper. If this belt is damaged or improperly installed, it can cause black pages. If you're comfortable doing so, inspect the transfer belt for damage or misalignment.

Firmware Update: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, HP releases firmware updates that can resolve printing issues. Check the HP website for the latest firmware updates for your model. Click here

Printer Preferences: Check the printer settings on your computer to ensure that they are set correctly. Incorrect settings could potentially lead to printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
