Product: Laserjet Pro m404dw
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We bought a new Laserjet Pro m404dw about a week ago, and I am now looking to buy a MICR toner for it.

 

When contacting Troy Group, they had asked me to confirm if the printer was MICR ready.  Are the new printers MICR ready to use?

Hope you are well, the printers are not defaulted to be MICR Ready, this depends where the printer was purchased ;  here is the link for Troy MICR ready printers :   link

You can use MICR toner in any printer, what TROY may be asking is whether you have a method to print the correct fonts and barcodes required by financial institutions. Often an upgrade is required.

They do not list the M404 but it might just be that they are behind on their website.
