Hi @rlcpd,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e printer is facing a serious issue with the ink cartridge and its holder. Here's what you can try to resolve it.
Turn Off the Printer and Unplug It:
- Ensure the printer is powered off to avoid any electrical issues or damage while working on it.
- Unplug the printer from the electrical outlet.
Check for Paper or Ink Blockages:
- Before you attempt to move the carriage or remove the cartridges, check if there are any paper pieces or ink that could be causing a blockage on the left side of the cartridge track.
Try to Manually Move the Cartridge Track:
- Gently attempt to move the ink cartridge carriage by hand. If it’s stuck due to ink leakage or any obstruction, moving it slowly and carefully might free it.
- If the carriage doesn't budge, apply light pressure but don’t force it.
Clean the Ink Leakage Area:
- If there’s ink leakage around the cartridges, clean the area carefully with a soft cloth. Be cautious not to damage any sensitive components.
Inspect for Broken Parts:
- Sometimes, the plastic parts of the track or carriage might break, causing it to become stuck. If that’s the case, the printer may need servicing or part replacement.
Remove the Ink Cartridges if Possible:
- If you can access the cartridges, carefully remove them by pressing down on the cartridge and pulling it out. Make sure to check the cartridge for any leakage or damage.
Since you use only HP ink cartridges, ensure you use authentic HP cartridges as replacements if you need new ones after this issue is resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
