I have a new HP photosmart C310a printer but without the setup cartridges.
Can I find some or is there a workaround?

@CJOYE76, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand you do not have setup ink cartridges for the printer. I'm afraid there is no option to perform a reset on this model printer to bypass the use of setup inks.
These ink cartridges are made available in the printer box and are not available in local stores or with HP.

Hello,
I managed to initialize the printer by finding the configuration cartridge.
I have been unable to print from my HP PC in windows10.
The scanner also works but I can't get my PC to be in the list of computers in the C310a printer.
I can't scan from the printer to the computer.
How do I get my PC to be listed in the printer? Thank you for your next answers.

This model printer is not compatible with the HP Smart app due to its age and there is no driver available on the HP Support site.
Install the printer using Windows built-in driver for printing. (Skip if you are able to print)
Refer to this document to know how. Try printing. Use Deskjet 990c driver if your printer is not listed.
Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help.
Note: No software is available for scanning. You may use MS paint.
Use a compatible scanning app to scan from the computer. Scanning from the printer screen is not possible in this case.
HP Scan and Capture app: Use this free app available from the Microsoft Store to scan photos or documents.
Go to Installing and Using HP Scan and Capture (Windows 10) for more information.
Windows Scan app: Use this Windows app to scan from most HP all-in-one printers.
Search Windows for Scan, and then click the Scan app in the list of results.
Windows Fax and Scan: Use this pre-installed tool to scan photos and documents.
Search Windows for fax, click Windows Fax and Scan in the list of results, and then click New Scan.
If this does not help, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

We need to have the full-feature printer software to enable 'scan to computer' option on the printer screen. However, as mentioned in my previous post, the software is now not available on the HP Drivers page.
If you alerady have the printer software installed, open the HP Printer Assistant software > Scan > Manage scan to computer > Enable.
Make sure this option is enabled for both the printers.
