I have only printed 551 pages using the HP 107A toner and now the printout is hardly readable. Not sure why as the cartridge still has 20 % toner remaining. I am a "light" user of the HP135w printer.
Could it be I am not getting an original toner from HP. I bought the toner online from HP.

Hi @MichaelCKS,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've only printed 551 pages and the print quality is already deteriorating, it's indeed unusual, especially considering there's still 20% toner remaining. Here are a few possibilities.
- Low-Quality Toner: While you purchased the toner online from HP, there's still a possibility that it might not be genuine or of good quality. Counterfeit or low-quality toner cartridges can lead to poor print quality and can even damage your printer in some cases.
- Printer Maintenance: Check if your printer requires any maintenance such as cleaning the print head or performing a calibration. Sometimes, accumulated dust or debris can affect print quality.
- Settings or Configuration: Ensure that your printer settings are optimized for the best print quality. Sometimes, default settings may not provide the best results.
- Printer Compatibility: While the HP 107A toner is designed for your printer model (HP 135w), it's still worth double-checking compatibility to ensure there's no mismatch causing issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
