M182nw toner compatibilty is baffling!
Rufus the robot says the toner is 17A, amazon and hp says it is 215a, Rufus says no, 17A says black only but the 182 is color, Rufus says my ce310a series will work but not recommnded. The box says nothing about it. I'm tending toward ditching HP and going to Brother.

OK, that ansewr helps some because it indicates that Rufus is not to be believed, (altho Valsimot did not say that 17a cannot be used in M182).
Since I already have a supply of CE310-13 toners, is Rufus correct or not when 'it' states that they will probably work in a M182 but not recommended? I show CE310-13; LCL CF350-53; and 130A as interchangeable. I have not yet opened the M182 box and won't if they are not compatible.

I have never seen a color laser that uses the same cartridge as a monochrome. Errors get perpetuated on the internet all the time and if it is a cartridge fitment error, often 3rd party vendors never realize or fix the error and consumers get stuck with a whole bunch of useless cartridges.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.

Thanks Repairatrooper; so true about fitment errors. My problem was I had a tree fall take out power and fry my printer. I had toners and was trying to find printers to match. I find that not possible given the present internet chaos.
