Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've done a silly thing; I was swapping out a couple of toner cartridges today and managed to push the carrier slide back into the printer before I'd removed all the tabs I was supposed to remove from the cartridges before installing it.

The cartridge in question was a pattern part of a type I'd not used before, and I assumed the tabs were supposed to remain on the cartridge.

The tabs are plastic, approx. 8mm long, 4mm wide and are on the RH side of the cartridge, looking at the printer from the front. I can get the cartridge slide out sufficiently far to remove the first cartridge (black) but the next one is one of the jammed ones.

I tried removing the side of the printer but was confronted with another layer of electronics and a metal subframe that I'm not confident or skilled enough to remove.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just reporting back that after trying many things to free up the toner cartridge tray, I solved it by the time honored, but I'm sure not endorsed by HP method, of giving it a whack with the heal of my hand. The carriage was free on one side and jammed on the other, whacking the free side solved the problem, sorry but no idea why.

The carriage is now free, I've replaced the toner cartridges I needed to, and a test print works okay. With the printer recognising the new cartridges.

So, thanks to anyone who was racking their brains for a solution, let's hope it's okay for the long term now.

Just as a disclaimer, this solution worked for me. But if anyone else chooses to try this method then you do so entirely at your own risk.
