HP Recommended

My M281 rejected a new, original HP 202x black toner cartridge as containing a "non-HP chip".  Current firmware is 20221010.

 

I returned the cartridge to Staples for a replacement.  Same problem.  Reports are that other customers are returning new toner cartridges as non-working

 

I had to install the old toner cartridge and then downgrade the firmware to get the new toner cartridge accepted.  Was this firmware properly tested on HP 202x cartridges?
