HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fnw

My M477fnw has had color problems for awhile now - the right quarter of a letter-size color print ends up splotchy. This can also be seen in other color test prints, and it appears to be limited to yellow.

I've gone through the built in cleaning stuff several times to no avail. This has continued between changing out the toner, and I haven't tried replacing or repairing anything else.

Edit: This seems to be restricted to the yellow cartridge, but again, I definitely had this problem before my current set of toner cartridges. I've updated with test prints of exclusively yellow gradients on both full and half width sheets of paper. Interestingly, on the half sheet print, the missing yellow only happens halfway down the sheet.

Hello ClairelyClaire,

If you have a spare yellow toner (genuine HP toner) please try it out, as sometimes the issue could be just that specific cartridge. If problem persists and you have full, original toners, you can try to reach a specific part of the system called "Secondary Service Menu" to run a specific cleanup:

Once there, select the option "Clean Belt" . You can try such cleaning several times, let's say 5 times. After that you can reach the home menu and try to make copies or print any internal report that requires yellow. If problem persists, the issue will be some internal component that has been contaminated with yellow and the unit needs to be taken to a Certified Service Center for repair.
