Replaced all four new ink cartridges at the same time but the magenta is not showing at all. Exchanged with a new magenta ink cartridge but still not working. And the print quality is bad. Printer is only a year and half old. Does anyone know what is wrong? Please see the demo prints.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

  1. check the cartridges,
    remove the magenta cartridge
  2. is the stripe removed from the magenta cartridge?
  3. insert the magenta again

If you see the same result, then the magenta cartridge is defective!
Must be reclaimed.

The ink cartridge does not have a stripe. If stripe is not the cause and the cartridge is good, what else could have caused it?

Oh yeah, the toners don't have streaks.  😉

 

It could be a contact problem!
But also the internal chip could be defective.

If removing and reinserting is not a solution, then this toner cartridge is broken!

This is the 2nd new cartridge I got. Could it be a roller problem?

but I would still try a calibration.
Are errors displayed then?

 

Print a Event Log: Shows a list of all printer events and errors

upload here, click on the icon "Insert photos", "Set format = Large", original size at least 200 KB.
But before you must remove or delete the personal data and printer serial number on the printout.

Did calibration no errors found. Will open the printer and see what we can find.

The event log says magenta density range error and color plane registration sensor error. How do we fix these? See below log.
