I can not despite replacing all laser toner cartridges, cleaning page, print calibration, demo page, and factory reset get the printer either in color or B/W dark enough. Even when printing the demo page colors are very light and even missing color in some areas of the hot air balloon on the demo page print. Same applies with just B/W and also I have tried printing B/W  NOT selecting B/W only, essentially allowing it to run in full color and the same result. ios and printer drivers are uptodate

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting print quality issues, I am glad to assist you.

Turn off EconoMode in the print settings for computers with macOS

  • In the software application you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print.
  • The Print window opens.
  • Click the unnamed menu at the center of the window, and then select Paper/Quality in the drop-down menu.
  • In the Media Type section, clear the EconoMode check box.
