Hi @JOECOV,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-in-One Printer is not printing blue even after trying all the usual troubleshooting steps like cleaning the printhead, aligning the printhead, and using a new genuine HP cartridge, here are a few additional things you can try.
Check Ink Levels:
- Even though the cartridge is new, check the ink levels to ensure it was filled properly and is being recognized by the printer. Sometimes a defective cartridge might show full ink levels but still not function correctly.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging the power cord back in and turning on the printer. This can sometimes clear any temporary issues.
Try a Different Cartridge:
- Even though your cartridge is new, it’s possible it could be defective. If possible, try a different blue/cyan cartridge to see if the issue persists.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve issues like this. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the printer's settings menu.
Print Quality Report:
- Print a quality diagnostic report to see if the blue ink is printing in any form. This report can help you determine if the issue is with the printhead or something else.
Manually Clean the Printhead:
- If the automatic printhead cleaning did not help, you can try cleaning the printhead manually. This involves removing the printhead from the printer and gently wiping the nozzles with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
Reset Printer Settings:
- Reset the printer to its default settings. This can sometimes clear out any software or firmware issues causing the problem.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
