Hi @lfwong,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The burning smell could be caused by a variety of factors, including a damaged or overheated printer component, a malfunctioning power supply, or a mechanical failure.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Turn off and unplug the printer immediately to prevent any potential fire hazard.
  • Allow the printer to cool down for at least 30 minutes.
  • Check the printer for any visible signs of damage, such as melted plastic or burnt components.
  • Remove any paper or other debris from the printer's internal components, including the paper tray and ink cartridges.
  • If you can identify the source of the burning smell, disconnect the affected component, such as the power supply,

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
