When I run the clean ink cartridge command from Printer Maintenance> Clean Ink Cartridges, and it prints the the Print Quality Diagnostic page, the magenta  block is completely blank. The ink levels is saying OK, so what os going on? How can I fix this?

@MickeyGee, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I understand the printer is not printing in Magenta. Clean the color ink cartridge up to 2 times and then print the quality report to check the result.

Make sure you are using HP ink cartridges. Try making a color copy or print from the Mac.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

 

If the issue persists, replace the color ink cartridge. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Hi Kumar, I’ve run the clean cartridge command 10 times, all that is happening is I’m wasting paper, as the magenta block remains blank. Surely there is another way to fix this.  It an original cartridge
