Hi @Paulpheonix,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your printer's magenta ink is not working after refilling the ink tank and cleaning the printhead. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:

Verify Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that the magenta ink tank is properly filled. Double-check that the right ink was used for refilling and that the ink tank is correctly seated.

Perform a Printhead Cleaning:

  • Run the printhead cleaning function again from your printer's maintenance settings. This tool can sometimes clear blockages by running more thorough cleaning cycles.

Check Ink System Components:

  • Make sure the Continuous Ink Supply System is properly connected, and there are no leaks or air bubbles in the ink lines. If there are air bubbles, they might prevent ink from flowing correctly.

Nozzle Check and Printhead Test:

  • Perform a nozzle check or printhead test to identify which specific colors are functioning. This step helps to verify if the issue is isolated to magenta.

Manual Cleaning:

  • If automatic cleaning does not resolve the issue, consider manually cleaning the printhead. Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water to gently clean the printhead, as detailed in the solutions for similar issues.

Replace the Printhead:

  • If the magenta still does not print and the printhead is old or damaged, it may be necessary to replace it.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
