@Pandi73, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding "no printer" message!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your MacBook cannot find your printer, you can address the issue by checking the following steps:

Ensure the Printer is Powered On: Make sure the printer is turned on and properly connected to the power supply.

Verify Network Connection:

  • If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, ensure it is connected to the same network as your MacBook.
  • If connected via USB, check that the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the MacBook.
  • Follow the HP All-In Plan for Print support and information guide for detailed setup instructions if your printer is part of the All-In Plan.

Check Printer Status: Verify there are no paper jams, and ink or toner levels are adequate.

Add Printer in System Preferences:

  • Navigate to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the plus "+" button to add a new printer.
  • Select your printer from the list and follow the prompts to set it up.

Update Printer Drivers:

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your MacBook and the printer to refresh their connections.

Reset Printing System:

  • Remove all printers from System Preferences > Printers & Scanners by right-clicking in the printer list and selecting Reset Printing System. Then, try adding the printer again.

I have tried everything and my blue ink is not coming through.  It must be a damaged CYAN cartridge.  How do I get a replacement please?  ASAP.  Thanks.

Hi @Pandi73,

Thank you for the response:

If your cyan (blue) ink is not printing, follow these troubleshooting steps before replacing the cartridge:

Check Ink Levels

On your printer, navigate to Settings > Ink Levels (or check on the HP Smart app).

If the cyan ink level is low or empty, replace the cartridge.

Run a Printhead Cleaning Cycle

On your printer’s menu, go to:
Settings > Maintenance > Clean Printhead

Run the cleaning twice, then print a test page.

Print a Test Page

Print a diagnostic page via:
Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report

Check if cyan is missing or faded.

Remove & Reinstall the Cartridge

Turn off the printer and unplug it.

Open the printer and remove the cyan cartridge.

Check for leaks or damage on the cartridge.

Reinsert it securely and restart the printer.

Manually Clean the Printhead

If cleaning from the printer menu doesn’t work:

Remove the ink cartridges.

Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water.

Gently wipe the copper contacts and nozzle area of the cyan cartridge.

Let it dry for 5 minutes, reinstall, and test print.

Try a Different Cyan Cartridge

If possible, try using another cyan cartridge to check if the issue is with the cartridge itself or the printhead.

Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer, unplug it for 5 minutes.

Plug it back in and restart.

I hope this helps.
