Product: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw

Hello, 

 

I have a LaserJet Pro M428fdw. My company will swap out the cartridges once a week to print checks. For this we use a Micr Toner cartridge from the Troy Group. This was working last Thursday without issue, however on Friday the cartridge suddenly became unrecognized. The normal HP cartridge still works. I have disabled cartridge protection on the printer settings, cleaned the sensor, reset to factory settings, etc. This Micr Toner cartridge will work in other printers, but just not in the M428. Any ideas?

HP Recommended

Check the firmware versions on the M428 that can and on the M428 that can't use that toner. The newer firmware prevents the printer to use non-HP toner cartridges.
